SUNDAY, September 4th
All day: Pick up Frosh Packs from the Information Desk in the Student Centre.

MONDAY, September 5th

- Turfburn
Monday, September 5 @ 12:00 noon (sharp!)
Huskies Stadium (on the turf)
TOTALLY FREE!
This is 100% SMU tradition! Totally free for all new students, this event is the official kick-off to Orientation Week. We gather in Huskies Stadium where the president of the university greets all new students. Then, we take the freshman class photo (you can see the photos of the past 20 years through the halls on the 5th floor of the Student Centre, where the SMUSA offices are located). After that, we break into groups and our volunteer Frosh Leaders introduce themselves, give a little information on the school, and then we play a whole lot of games and activities. We cap it all off with a BBQ in the quad (link to Facebook BBQ event). Seriously, don’t miss this day!

- Comedy Night[Rated NC17: explicit language, situations and imagery]

Monday, September 5 @ 8:00pm
The Tower Fieldhouse

It’s comedy night in the Tower featuring Pete Zedlacher (Just for Laughs, The Hour with George Strombolopolus, Ha!ifax Comedy Festival, Video on Trial, etc.) and fromComedy Records: Matt O’Brien, Barry Taylor and K. Trevor Wilson. It’s over TWO HOURS of hilarious. And just so you know: when they asked if swearing was ok, we said “Swearing is &*%#ing awesome,” so consider yourselves warned!

TUESDAY, September 6th

The good folks at SMU Student Services want you to be fed and nourished before taking to the streets for SHINE DAY, so they’re providing pancake breakfast for everyone in front of (or inside) the Student Centre!

Tuesday, September 6 – Time TBA
Meet in the Quad (in front of the Student Centre)
TOTALLY FREE!
as Team SMU-SHINE (get it?), we’ll be dressed up and hitting the streets of Halifax for this official Shinerama event! Lunch will be delivered to all participants courtesy of Domino’s pizza. It’s going to be huge fun!

- Society Expo
Thursday, September 9 – 9:00am-3:00pm
The Quad (between Student Centre, the Library/Atrium, and Burke Building)
TOTALLY FREE!
This is like an outdoor show! Come sign up for societies, meet some sponsors, sign up for Intramurals (recreational sports), get some swag, and maybe win some sweet prizes! 101.3 The Bounce will be pumping out tunes and other great sponsors will be on site.

It’s concert time! We’re still speaking with agents and other schools to determine which band(s) we’ll have on campus. Rest assured, it’s going to be a great time!

FRIDAY, September 9th

Friday, September 9th @ 3-7pm
The Quad
TOTALLY FREE!
It’s the first home football game of the regular season and we want everyone to come out and show their school spirit! We’ll have some games, live music, a beer garden (must be 19+ w/ valid Canadian proof of age to enter), prize, face painting and more! If you haven’t been to a SMU varsity game before, this is the perfect opportunity to join The Pack. Even if you don’t understand football, come be part of the energy and you’ll be hooked for life! Better still: All home varsity games during the regular season are free for SMU students (w/ valid SMU ID)!

Special thanks to our radio partner 101.3 The Bounce who are supporting this event and hosting the after party in The Gorsebrook Lounge 11pm-1am! This one will be a blast!
