Salon & Barbershop Talks

Many Black men and women have a special relationship with their barbers and salon stylists. This distinctive relationship has resulted in a series of events called the Barbershop and Salon Talks, where the neighbourhood barbershop and salons are used to create a safe space for members of the black community to meet in confidence and fellowship.

In these informal meetings, participants are encouraged to openly discuss Black masculinity and femininity and critical issues that affect Black men and women within the general society. Besides stimulating conversations, the idea is to brainstorm about solutions to some of the significant stresses Black men, women, and children face!
