Society Event: Caribbean Jeopardy night
Location: Sobey Inspirational Hub 325
Caribbean Jeopardy Night is a fun and engaging trivia event where participants test their knowledge of Caribbean culture, history, music, and more. Teams will compete to answer questions and earn points, with the goal of becoming the night’s Caribbean Jeopardy champion. This event is designed to bring people together for a night of cultural celebration and friendly competition. Refreshments will be provided.
RWT Book Club
Location: Halifax Public Library. We will meet in front of the Patrick Power Library at SMU and then go together to the Public Library in Spring Garden.
So many books to read but so little time? Join the RWT for our first Book Club meeting. Our first meeting will be to get participants their Halifax Public Library cards, explore the library, and find a wellness book (i.e. Before the Coffee Gets Cold). Once we choose a book, we can begin reading and having debriefing sessions to discuss the book's theme and message.

Writing for Mental Health: Exploring Well-Being Through Poetry and Journaling

Dr. Luke Hathaway, SMU English professor and poet, will be a guest speaker, discussing how writing choices can be used as strategies for processing difficult life events. Yoga

Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to promote flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. This yoga practice also incorporates mindfulness, inviting participants to center their awareness in the present moment. The class ends with a deep relaxation pose (savasana) for grounding and integration, leaving participants feeling both energized and relaxed.
The Science of Thriving: Cultivating Psychological Well-Being Workshop

We’ll explore how strengthening psychological well-being can transform your health, resilience, and success in life and work. Turning the Sexual Health Stigma Inside Out

Dr. Julie Quinn will be coming in and talking about the stigma behind human sexual behavior. She will cover awareness on healthy sexual behaviors and birth control. Everyone is invited because sexual behavior is for everyone in the community regardless of gender and it is important to educate on these topics. She will talk about myths of what is real and what is fake, especially relating to depictions in movies/ tv shows.

Society Event: Wii Sports Tournament

The Commerce Society is hosting a dual event on Friday with both a Wii Sports Tourney, and a Sushi Social in SH325! Come show your sports skills in a free entry, random sport 1v1, double elimination tournament of Wii Sports, where the ultimate winner will receive $100 in various gift cards! During the match, the players and spectators can partake in a sushi social, where the first 30 people attending will get to chow down on 10 rolls for free! Beyond this, the society will have a large number of consoles and board games for people to have an absolute blast throughout their Friday afternoon!

Society Event: Super Smash Bros Tournament
Location: Atrium 101
The Pride Society and Black Student Society will be hosting a Super Smash Bros tournament as a fundraiser and a showcase for both local Black and queer owned businesses. The tournament will be a structured bracket-style tournament with an elimination format. Students will pay a $5.00 registration fee to play and a $2.00 fee to come and watch. There will be prizes to be won from local businesses with the following criteria: winner's bracket, loser's bracket, a general prize from the final match (winners of both brackets will compete for this prize), as well as a door prize to encourage students to come and watch. This event while being sponsored and hosted by the Pride Society and Black Student Society will be open to any member of the student body to play or watch.
