Turning the Sexual Health Stigma Inside Out
Location: AT 101
Dr. Julie Quinn will be coming in and talking about the stigma behind human sexual behavior. She will cover awareness on healthy sexual behaviors and birth control. Everyone is invited because sexual behavior is for everyone in the community regardless of gender and it is important to educate on these topics. She will talk about myths of what is real and what is fake, especially relating to depictions in movies/ tv shows.
The Science of Thriving: Cultivating Psychological Well-Being Workshop
Location: The Homburg Centre Classroom (HC211)
Join us for a special Wellness Week workshop led by wellbeing expert, Andrew Soren. We’ll explore how strengthening psychological well-being can transform your health, resilience, and success in life and work. Drawing on the latest science from the field of Positive Psychology, this two-hour session is designed to be interactive, engaging, and practical.
Yoga
Location: Homburg Centre, Studio A
Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to promote flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. This yoga practice also incorporates mindfulness, inviting participants to center their awareness in the present moment. The class ends with a deep relaxation pose (savasana) for grounding and integration, leaving participants feeling both energized and relaxed.

Therapy Dogs

🐶 👀 They’re baaaack! Therapeutic Paws of Canada volunteers and therapy dogs will be at the SMU Library on Thursday, November 28 from 12-1 p.m.! Drop in and hang out with some furry friends to relieve some pre-exam stress. Therapy dogs Swayze and Flaubert can’t wait to meet you, #SMUdents!

Writing for Mental Health: Exploring Well-Being Through Poetry and Journaling

Looking for a way to de-stress and get creative? This workshop will focus on the positive impacts of journaling, creative writing, and poetry. Dr. Luke Hathaway, SMU English professor and poet, will be a guest speaker, discussing how writing choices can be used as strategies for processing difficult life events. The event will be hosted by the counselling centre’s peer supporters and wellness ambassador.
