Jade Newell

Hello! My name is Jade, my pronouns are she/they and I am a 4th year Philosophy honors student with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Eventually, I plan to do a masters in philosophy, focusing on feminist and intersectional philosophy.

While I have been at SMU, I have learned a lot about becoming confident in yourself in an academic setting. I have also learned how to improve your writing and have well-structured academic essays. In addition to this I have also learned a lot about how to balance and cope with mental health issues especially dealing with anxiety in and outside of the classroom. 

I am very passionate about helping others and actively work to make others feel comfortable, accepted, and understood when they are around me. Overall, I would love to be able to help students feel more confident in themselves and their work and want to work with you in order to help get you there.
