  • During the opt-in (enrolment) period, students can access the opt-out form electronically on the Student VIP website here.

You need to create an account and sign in to access the form.

If you have issues, please contact healthplan.smusa@smu.ca

  • If you are looking for coverage for non-immediate family members (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.) or for visiting friends, you may purchase the Visitors to Canada Plan through Student VIP.

More information can be found here.

  • If you are a dual citizen, you may need to opt-in to the Basic Health plan due to the way your registration status appears in Banner.
