About Liquor Services
SMUSA Liquor Services employs Saint Mary’s students to provide professional bar/beverage services for on-campus events. We specialize in concerts, dinners, social gatherings, receptions, wine & cheese events, sporting events, society events, and more! Our services are available to faculty, staff, and students at Saint Mary’s as well as any external group that is hosting an event on campus.
Serviceable Locations
Locations for bar/beverage services include Loyola Conference Hall, Sobey’s Building, the Student Centre Cafeteria, near Homburg Athletics Squash Courts, McNally Theatre Auditorium, Faculty Lounge, Open Mic’s and events at the Gorsebrook Lounge.
Any liquor served at your event must be consumed in the licensed area of the campus and must be arranged through SMUSA Liquor Services. Any other means of providing alcohol is contrary to the Nova Scotia Liquor Control Act.

Book Liquor Services
Looking to book our services? When planning an event on campus, you must first contact Conference Services at 902-420-5486 and pick up a Liquor Request Form. Conference services will assist you with room booking chair/table set up, audiovisual needs, parking, etc. Our Operations Manager will assist you with product and service!
NOTE: When requesting liquor services please provide notice at least seven (7) days in advance.
Rules and Regulations
All alcohol on campus MUST be provided by the SMUSA Liquor Services department and security must be visible at all functions in order to provide a safe environment for the clients.
Any event employing SMUSA’s Liquor Services will also require SMUSA Event Security staff.
The University reserves the right to control all sales and/or services of alcoholic beverages by verifying age and having the additions of security at the client’s expense.
In accordance with the Liquor Control Act, all liquor supplied through the SMUSA Liquor Services department must remain on campus – no exceptions.
