Alexa Ikejiani
Hello, my name is Alexa Ikejiani, and I am a third-year student at SMU pursuing a BA in Psychology (Honours). With the long-term goal of becoming a Clinical Psychologist, I understand the need to seek extra help when course material becomes overwhelming. Due to my volunteer work and school experience, I can provide a comprehensive experience for students. I have been a part of a collaborative research project (“Leadership in Sport - More than Medals”), I have volunteered at a distress line (assisted callers dealing with a variety of stressors), and have written numerous research papers for upper-year PSYC courses here at SMU. That said, I can offer help with general coursework, research papers, and exam prep. I can also help build study plans, provide quality notes, and even offer real-world experiences I have had working in the field.
I am also pursuing a minor in Religion, so I am able to assist any religion students as I have taken a range of courses within this discipline. I am very interested in the overlap between religion and mental health and how they can influence one another in both positive and negative ways.
As a student-athlete, I value the busy schedules and lives of students here at SMU; I hope to offer flexible hours and settings (online or on-campus). I can also understand the challenges of finding affordable tutors, so my rates are always open to negotiation. Please reach me at my SMU email (Alexa.Ikejiani@smu.ca) during work hours (8:00 am to 7:00 pm daily). You should expect an email back within 24 hours, as I am always checking my SMU email :)
