I am Kris. A 3rd year student in the Bachelor of Commerce program, accounting major and have a Diploma of Business Administration – Accounting from NSCC. I am running for the board of directors due to my strong interest in helping people, either propping them up or helping them avoid the same mistakes I have made.

I'm around campus a bit and loving hearing about spirituality and culture, but my involvement around school is with the SMU investments societies Husky Capital, the Commerce Society, and the SMU Enactus team.

I'm running for the board of directors for a few reasons. I’ve been an outcast and outlier most of my life and had to face the struggles of at-risk youth alone. I know what it's like to not have a voice, and I want to represent everyone who feels like that isn’t heard; the ones who feel behind or unsure of their journey, and to give people who can relate to my story a place of belonging I so wished I had.

As I said before, my interests are mythology, spirituality, religion, and culture. With my family from a small village, I love hearing and learning about cultures and perspectives I would have never received a chance to experience back home

My values are simple: authenticity, kindness, respect, justice, and determination. I know I would’ve gotten this far without every single person who believed in me, and I try to live my life to the fullest for the people that can't, and fight for everyone who doesn’t have the same privilege I was born into.
